Fluxera Energy was founded by engineers who had spent years working across the BESS supply chain — in battery testing, compliance coordination, and project infrastructure — and had watched the same preventable problems destroy project timelines and budgets on repeat. This company exists because the infrastructure layer for battery energy storage systems was being built wrong, and no one was specialising in doing it right.
Every major BESS project deployment we examined had the same structural gap. The battery systems were improving. The vendors were credible. The procurement processes were becoming more sophisticated. But the layer between the battery vendor's scope and the project owner's expectations — the physical infrastructure, the compliance programme, the independent technical intelligence — was routinely treated as someone else's problem.
It usually belonged to whoever was cheapest. A general contractor's mechanical subcontractor for the piping. A vendor-supplied certification dossier reviewed by a procurement manager who couldn't evaluate its scope. A fire safety consultant who knew the standard theoretically but had never tested suppression against a lithium thermal event.
We founded Fluxera to own that gap — as specialists with deep BESS-specific knowledge across three disciplines that had to work together: intelligence, compliance, and physical infrastructure.
"Infrastructure failures in energy storage are not accidents. They are the predictable result of treating specialist work as a commodity, and of optimising the one layer — vendor selection, contract price — while under-specifying everything that holds the project together."
The founding principle behind everything Fluxera does.
Tumakuru isn't an arbitrary location. Karnataka's energy storage ambition is real — the state has committed to significant renewable integration, BESS procurement is accelerating through KREDL and KERC, and the industrial base in the region means proximity to the early adopters that matter.
We chose to launch in 2026 because the market is at exactly the right moment: sophisticated enough that our clients understand what we're solving, early enough that we can set the infrastructure standard before the market scales past the point where poor-quality infrastructure becomes embedded practice.
India's energy transition will require hundreds of gigawatt-hours of storage. Most of it will be built in the next decade. Getting the infrastructure layer right in the first cohort of large-scale projects sets the reference standard for everything that follows. That's the window we're working in.

Disciplines — intelligence, compliance, infrastructure — unified under one specialist
Fluxera's capabilities are not three separate service lines. They are three elements of the same problem — the infrastructure layer between a battery vendor's product and a project owner's operating asset. They are designed to work together.
Pre-bid vendor assessments, post-contract monitoring, ecosystem research, and emerging technology intelligence — giving clients the technical clarity to make decisions that hold under scrutiny.
IEC 62619, UL 9540, NFPA 855, and all applicable Indian standards — testing coordination, laboratory management, compliance documentation, and lender-ready certification packages.
BESS-grade fire suppression, thermal management, and HDPE/CPVC/GRP piping systems — designed for battery environments, supplied from verified sources, installed by trained crews.
The skills and disciplines that underpin Fluxera's BESS capabilities — electrochemical safety expertise, compliance infrastructure management, specialist physical systems — are directly transferable to the emerging green hydrogen infrastructure sector.
We are building our hydrogen infrastructure capability in parallel with our BESS work. Our first hydrogen intelligence reports will be available to Founding Partners in Q3 2026 — covering electrolyser vendor assessment, hydrogen storage safety standards, and the compliance infrastructure for green hydrogen projects in India.
This isn't a pivot. It's the natural extension of the same founding thesis — the infrastructure layer for energy transition technologies needs specialists, not generalists.
The same infrastructure gap that exists in BESS exists — perhaps even more acutely — in green hydrogen. Electrolyser vendor assessment, hydrogen storage safety (EN 17536, ISO 19880), and safety-critical piping for hydrogen service require specialist knowledge that the market doesn't yet have in depth.
Fluxera is at the stage where we are working to form our first five client relationships. These aren't sales conversations — they are partnership conversations. We want to work deeply with a small number of organisations on their first BESS project, learn from that collaboration, and build the evidence base for what our services produce.
Founding Partners receive embedded engagement — our team works alongside yours, not in an advisory capacity — at a commercial structure that reflects the risk both parties are taking at the start of a relationship.
Not a sales call. A technical conversation about what your project needs and whether Fluxera is the right fit to provide it.
